Now offering fun affordable language
based group activities for all kids!
Groups are designed to provide additional practice opportunities and skill building. They serve as a wonderful compliment to individual services in addition to finding peer support and motivation. Group treatments are 60 minutes in length and can be comprised of 2-6 individuals. As a parent, if you have any concerns regarding your child's development, we are able to answer questions for you. Our focus is also to give you, as the parent, as many ideas as we can to help you elicit your child's language skills. All groups are run by a licensed Speech Language Pathologist that specializes in the development of communication skills, language development, sound development and social interactions. We are able to focus on the critical development areas for your child, and are the specialists to ask regarding your child's overall language development.
Preschool Language Group:
The purpose of our Preschool Language Group is to facilitate the development and generalization of speech, language, social-pragmatic and play skills within the context of a naturalistic, peer-driven environment. Our goal is to create a fun, energetic and nurturing environment in which young children can explore and develop their communicative competence with both adults and peers. It is through play that children learn language, so retaining these language skills happens more quickly when the child is having fun! With this in mind, it is our goal to provide a time full of fun, stories, singing, dancing, laughing, sharing, taking turns and practicing developmentally appropriate language skills!
All Preschool Language Group sessions are based on a theme, and each session is broken down into 5 basic areas: free play, story time, cognitive activity time, craft time and movement time. Our groups are run by a licensed Speech Pathologist and a Speech Assistant.
Play-based social groups are for preschool-aged children.
Currently, this group meets Thursdays 12:15-1:15
